PLAN-IT NOW!

It Is Time To Take Action

wE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD

It can seem overwhelming but there is reason for hope!   We have to make the changes now, how ever small or large the change, all of us can make a difference. This is our home and we have no place to go, we have to start cleaning up and make the changes, not only for the planet but for you, me, our children and future generations to come.

The Time Is Now

Climate Change and Energy

Protecting our environment is about expanding our knowledge, making changes in how we live and sometimes learning to adapt to changes that have already taken place. Our increased use of fossil fuel energy is unsustainable, and burning these fuels produces greenhouse gas emissions that impact global warming. …   It’s time to make a Change For Our Planet and for Our Lives!

Plastic Ocean Pollution

The oceans contain tonnes of plastic waste, this shocking footage shows the damage that humans are doing to the world’s oceans. Cups, wrappers and bags can be seen everywhere, all while tropical fish swim around in the waste. Tonnes of plastic is dumped into the worlds oceans each year. Hopefully scenes like this will open people’s eyes to the worldwide issue.

Great Pacific Garbage Patch

Ocean Pollution Awareness

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a massive dump of floating garbage in the Pacific Ocean. We contribute to it everyday by littering and using un-biodegradable materials. Our trash is taken downstream from rivers into the ocean, where currents sweep it to the closest patch.

Microbeads

Where might I find microbeads around my house?

The International Campaign Against Microbeads in Cosmetics has assembled lists of products that contain microbeads. The list is not comprehensive, so you should always check a cleanser’s ingredient list for polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polymethyl methacrylate, polylactic acid, or nylon— these are the most common plastics that make up microbeads. If you find any of these compounds, it’s time to toss the offending product.

Global Climate Change

Vital Signs Of The Planet

The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is extremely likely (greater than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented over decades to millennia. Earth-orbiting satellites and other technological advances have enabled scientists to see the big picture, collecting many different types of information about our planet and its climate on a global scale. This body of data, collected over many years, reveals the signals of a changing climate. Both the extent and thickness of Arctic sea ice has declined rapidly over the last several decades.

The Time Is Now

Millions Of Bees And Hives Are Dying

Millions of bees are dropping dead due to pesticides, (namely neonicotinoid pesticides). The collapse in the global honeybee population is a major threat to crops. It is estimated that a third of everything we eat depends upon honeybee pollination, which means that bees contribute over 30 billion to the global economy. Sciences revealed that neonicotinoid pesticides kill honeybees by damaging their immune system and making them unable to fight diseases and bacteria.

Our planet, our home

Protect It Today

Our problems are interconnected, and so are the solutions. Whether marching side by side on the halls of power or replanting a forest, we thrive when we cooperate. That’s where Greenpeace comes in. We’re a movement powered by people like you, working together for a green and peaceful future. This fragile Earth needs action. It needs you Now!

time is running out

Soon it will be too late

Some people might be tempted to dismiss the evidence and think we are just being alarmists. Scientists are in the business of analyzing data and looking at the long-term consequences. The scientists who signed the second warning aren’t just raising a false alarm. They are acknowledging the obvious signs that we are heading down an unsustainable path. They are hoping that second warning will ignite wide-spread public awareness about the global environment and climate change. We can reverse it, but Time Is Running Out!
